About FMSF

Financial Management Service Foundation is a Development Resource organization specializing in financial management, legal and governance issues pertaining to Development sector. The core areas of the work undertaken by FMSF include financial monitoring of BftW projects and capacity building of BftW Partners in South Asia. With a vision "for reality in development cooperation where there will be overall and wholistic accountability among all constituencies", FMSF is guided by the core values of accountability, transparency, humaneness and sensitivity. FMSF has published numerous books relevant to the development sector on Financial Management, Legal Regulations, Social Audit, Social Accountability Standards etc. Further, FMSF also publishes a six monthly journal 'INTERface' that covers governance, legal and financial issues and various other e-publications which aims to provide relevant information on NPO governance, Financial Management and Legal Regulations. FMSF also runs two web-based courses namely, Diploma in Financial Management and Accountability (DFMA), a joint initiative of FMSF and Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) and NPO Governance Programme. DFMA is a one year online diploma program on which aims to promote accountability in the sector by strengthening the financial management practices and individual capacities of finance personnel. NPO Governance Programme is a four months online programme which aims to improve the performance of the Board of a voluntary organization on governance matters.
